Teachers’ day is celebrated on 5th September as a tribute to the second president of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a great teacher, philosopher, and a well known diplomat. On this day students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers. Students of Sigma Institute of Engineering celebrated this day by letting the teachers relax while they taught the class for a few lessons. The second part of the celebration was held in the SIE auditorium. The event started with lighting of the lamp and a prayer service of Goddess Saraswati. There was an introductory speech by students which was then followed by various interesting games for teachers. Teachers also evaluated the teaching of students and a winner from each department was felicitated. Prof. (Dr.) Archana S. Nanoty delivered a speech in which she talked about the importance and essence of teachers’ day.
On this day, a book named as “Practical Handbook for Digital Image Processing Using MATLAB” written by Dr. Sheshang D. Degadwala (HOD- Computer Department) was also launched by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Archana S. Nanoty.
